Update: Delays due to COVID and contract extensions
As we mentioned in our last newsletter, the Dutch ministry of Education, Culture and Science will give a compensation of 162 million euros for contract extensions of young researchers. Part of this compensation will be allocated to the LUMC (see also:As we mentioned in our last newsletter, the Dutch ministry of Education, Culture and Science will give a compensation of 162 million euros for contract extensions of young researchers. Part of this compensation will be allocated to the LUMC (see also: Nationaal Programma Onderwijs (Dutch only)). Applications for this reimbursement will most likely open in the beginning of September and will be open for only 2 weeks. There will be another submission for extensions in 2022, probably at the end of 2021.
The application process is currently under construction and needs to be approved by the participation council of the LUMC. The first compensation is aimed at people who have experienced a delay in 2020 due to COVID-19 and whose contract end in 2021. One of the qualifications will most likely be that your Converis and all mandatory courses are according to standard, so be sure to have your Converis up-to-date! All other specific qualifications and requirements will follow after approval by the participation council. We will of course keep you updated on this topic.
Will PhD ceremonies take place physically or online?
PhD ceremonies will take place fully online (via a livestream) or with a very limited number of people in the small auditorium at the Academy Building.
|
|
NEW RULE: besides rector, beadle, technician, promotor, secretary and paranymphs you may invite up to 10 guests to the Academy Building! The members of the opposition committee are requested to attend via livestream. For further details see the updated PhD protocol.
