Dear fellow PhD candidates,
Happy New Year! Do you have any New Year's resolutions for this year? For some of you, this may be the year in which you finish your PhD or defend your thesis, while others have just started their journey. We wish you all good luck this year! And while completing your essential New Year's resolutions, don't forget to take some time for yourself. Learn a new language, become a talented musician or visit that country that has been on your bucket list for years.
Thank you all for joining the Christmas drinks and showing up in your glittery outfits, it was a great success! In the meanwhile, we are preparing for our next events. We hope to see you all on the PhD day on April 19th!
Please contact us if you have any questions or suggestions.

Analyst platform for the exchange of study materials
Do you do research in the lab or do you work with study materials such as blood tubes, needles or other materials that are used more often in the LUMC? The Green Team LUMC recently made a call to see whether it is possible to exchange materials and products, with the goal to prevent unnecessary waste. This is possible via the analyst platform. For example, if you have left over blood tubes, you can use this route to make a request whether these blood tubes are still needed elsewhere. You can also see whether there are materials or products offered that you could use in your study. In this way, we prevent valuable materials and products to be wasted and possibly reduce costs. Email the analyst platform to subscribe.

FNV survey about workload at universities
Research shows that 7 out of 10 university employees struggle with high to very high work pressure. FNV Onderwijs & Onderzoek has this high on the agenda and in the collective labour agreement of 2021, it is stated that universities must ensure that everyone gets enough hours for the tasks they have to perform. Unfortunately, this agreement is not put to action at every university. Fill in the survey before January 20 and maybe you will win a Kindle Paperwhite e-reader!
